CHRISTMAS ON ICE
Ice Skaters from Carlow and surrounding counties will have the rare opportunity to ice-skate this Christmas as the Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Country Club unveils its annual ice-rink. Stretching 250 m2, the rink will be covered by a marquee and will include a terrace where visitors can collect their skates and enjoy their Torvill & Dean moment whatever the weather. Located next to the Hotel’s Club House guests can then relax with mulled wine or a mug of hot chocolate and a snack, taking in the stunning views of the ice-rink and the golf course beyond.
During the day the rink will mainly cater for families and young children with scheduled discounted afternoons for school trips throughout December at a special rate of €9 per child. To cater for small children, the unique ‘click’ skates are available with a double blade stabilizer which simply click onto any size child’s shoe.
For a Christmas Party with a twist, the Mount Wolseley Hilton Hotel in Carlow is also offering ‘Join the Party’ nights and Christmas ‘Lunch on Ice’ packages.
The Official Opening will take place on Thursday 29th November. The rink will run for a season of over four weeks until the 13th January. Opening hours are from 11am to 10pm each day.
